Aurora overhead/approaching overhead possible across Alberta tonight

Potential Aurora for the evening of August 4, 2023

Where to park?

If this is your first time chasing the Aurora and you’re planning to leave the city, there could be A LOT of people out trying to catch the Aurora as well. A couple of safety tips:

A few handy spots

Edmonton area

• About 15 minutes north from Bison Loop Road (which can get very crowded)

• Expect traffic jams during anticipated Auroral events

• Lots of parking

• Nice large park where people can spread out

• National Park, so you will need a Park Pass

• Washrooms

Red Deer Area

• At the south end of Gull Lake

• Lots of parking

• Long view north over the lake

• Lots of space along the beach to spread out

Calgary Area
